HMI was formed in 1999 to distribute Isuzu Industrial and Marine engines into the UK and Ireland, as a division of HM Plant Ltd. HM Plant Ltd is the UK distributor for Hitachi Construction Machinery, of which Isuzu engines power much of the equipment.
Originally based at the company’s head office in Bridgwater, Somerset, we initially targeted the Industrial engine market, by packaging the product to suit various applications including gensets and pumpsets. Further development of the business led to HMI marinising the Isuzu engines, with the highly successful canal boat engine range, in which HMI are now leaders into this market.
HMI company’s focus is to offer a high quality product with an un-rivalled back up and support for all of the products offered.
HM Plant Ltd and HMI now operate from a facility in Tyne & Wear.
